Privacy Notice

Last updated: April 30, 2026

This Privacy Notice explains how SocialTelescope ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and the SocialTelescope application (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), and profile details you provide during registration or onboarding.
  • Configuration: the keywords you monitor, your product description, and channel preferences.
  • Usage data: log events, IP address, device and browser information, and product telemetry used to operate and improve the Service.
  • Billing data: processed by our payments provider Paddle. We receive limited details (e.g. country, plan, last four digits of card) but never the full payment instrument.
  • Communications: messages you send us by email or in the app.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and secure the Service;
  • Match your monitored keywords against public content on supported third-party platforms;
  • Send transactional emails (account, billing) and digest emails you have opted into;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or breach of our Terms;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)

Where applicable, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR/UK GDPR: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to keep the Service reliable, secure, and to improve it), consent (for optional communications and certain cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Sharing with service providers

We share information only with vendors that help us run the Service, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. These include:

  • Paddle — payment processing and Merchant of Record for paid subscriptions;
  • SendGrid — transactional and digest email delivery;
  • Anthropic and/or OpenAI — AI providers for reply drafts;
  • Apify — Reddit data crawling;
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers used to run our application and database;
  • Google Analytics — aggregate web analytics on our marketing site.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland are involved, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and local-storage entries that are strictly necessary to operate the Service (for example, to keep you signed in). On our marketing site we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

7. Data retention

We keep your account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Mention data and activity logs are retained for a rolling window aligned with your plan. You can request deletion at any time (see "Your rights" below).

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email contato@socialtelescope.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Security

We protect your information using industry-standard measures such as TLS encryption in transit, encryption of secrets at rest, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If changes are material we will notify you by email or through the Service. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
